WAVE FX · ABLETON LIVE SETUP & CONTROLS
Your audio.
Your equation. Your mix.
Wave FX is a Windows VST3 audio-effect plug-in for Ableton Live. Mathematics supplies the shape. Your audio supplies the character. It uses a moving point on an equation-driven surface to transform an instrument or recording. Start with a familiar sound, change a mathematical relationship, and listen to what emerges.

Install your Windows download
- Download the Wave FX ZIP from Your library.
- Right-click the ZIP in Windows File Explorer and choose Extract All. Open the extracted folder.
- Save your Live Set and close Ableton. Right-click Install-Wave-FX.cmd and choose Run as administrator.
- After installation succeeds, reopen Ableton and rescan VST3 plug-ins if needed.
Do not open individual .vst3 files or run the installer from inside the ZIP. Installing into the system VST3 folder requires an administrator account. Downloading again does not remove that requirement. If installation is blocked, send the exact error to peppersghost.io@gmail.com. Do not disable Windows security protections.
- 01
Open your instrument in Live.
Load an Ableton instrument onto a MIDI track, or add a recording to an audio track. Play it normally first.
- 02
Place Wave FX after the instrument.
Add the Peppers.Ghöst Wave FX VST3 to the same device chain. Audio flows from your instrument into the effect. No virtual MIDI cable is needed for this workflow.
- 03
Activate your computer.
Copy your personal PGW license code from Your library. Click Activate in Wave FX’s top bar, enter your purchase email and code, then choose Activate this computer while connected to the internet. Once the button reads Licensed, the effect is ready. One license supports two computers; manage their slots in Your library.
- 04
Choose an equation. Listen to its shape.
Start with a ripple preset, adjust the mix, and try a sweep. Change a coefficient to reshape the surface. Then paint sound materials, combine equation layers, or add modulation to give the mathematical pattern your own musical character.
- 05
Explore space with headphones.
The native Headphones controls use a generic MIT KEMAR HRTF for binaural positioning. The effect varies with your hearing and headphones; there is no head tracking.
Blend your original audio with Graph
In Wave FX, enable Parallel mixer at the bottom. Start with Original and Graph at 0.50, choose Both and adjust the balance. Original is delayed to align with Graph and stays separate from its pitch, EQ and headphone processing. Choose Original or Graph to compare without losing your levels.
In Pocket, import a song, choose Both and adjust the separate Original and Graph volumes in the playback bar. Try a slow path and a quiet Graph level for a subtle moving layer. Wave FX exports through your DAW; Pocket can export a full song or recorded clip.
Both accept mono audio. Wave FX supports mono and stereo tracks; Pocket produces stereo output. Use stereo headphones to explore directional movement.
Access without interrupting your work
Lifetime use works offline after activation. Monthly access checks in the background and supports up to seven days offline, limited by the last paid term and its 72-hour grace period. Open the Licensed or Grace button to see your exact deadline or choose Check access after renewing. If access ends, Wave FX fades to dry audio; your settings, equations and saved Visions are not deleted. Keep Windows date and time correct.
The downloadable 0.8.1 illustrated handbook covers sound design. The current package also includes the License and Activation guide and the 0.11 supplement for the new mixer, Orbits, EQ and Undo/Redo.

The minimum Windows version, CPU requirements, and complete host compatibility matrix will be finalized after release testing. Save a separate copy of important sessions before testing preview software.
ACCESSIBILITY IS PART OF THE WORK
More ways to explore.
This website includes labeled controls, keyboard operation, visible focus, reduced-motion support, and no automatic audio playback. The native plug-in has a keyboard and accessibility foundation; evaluation with blind and low-vision participants is still needed.
We do not claim universal screen-reader support or a scientifically validated sonification method. The goal is to develop those capabilities with people who will use them.
