Shape your Ableton tracks with a 3D mathematical audio effect. Blend Original and Graph, explore four moving sound points, and automate tone, pitch and headphone space. Choose Wave FX 2.0 Studio beta or keep 1.0 Classic for existing projects.

A surface you can see. An effect you can hear.

Equations describe a landscape. A listening point reads its height to shape tone and pitch, while its position moves the sound left and right. Up to four orbiting points process the same incoming track at different places.

New in 2.0: A/B project comparisons, four assignable performance macros, four LFO routes, optional Graph RMS matching and a mono compatibility check. Edit the equation below the graph and choose Explain number to explore its mathematical role.

An audio effect for your instruments and recordings, with mono/stereo I/O and binaural headphone processing. The graph is a control surface, not a physical simulation or a discrete surround-speaker renderer.

Wave FX 2.0.2 beta update

Already using Wave FX 2.0 in Ableton Live? Install this update to bring your Peppers.Ghöst Wave FX 2.0 plug-in to version 2.0.2 in your existing Ableton installation.

Explore the new modulation matrix: four LFO sources, sixteen assignments and 46 destinations for graph movement, EQ, pitch, orbits, spatial placement and mixing. Includes clearer controls, direct equation editing and readable RMS meters.

Experimental: high-DPI and heavy spatial-audio performance remain under evaluation. Back up your project.

How to update: Save your Live Set and close Ableton. Extract the ZIP, run Install-Wave-FX-2.cmd as administrator, then reopen Ableton and rescan VST3 plug-ins if needed. This replaces your existing Wave FX 2.0 installation. Your saved Visions, activation and current Ableton installation stay in place. Keep your previous installer and a backup of your Set. Classic 1.0 stays separate, and the earlier downloads above remain available.

Install your beta

Extract the Windows ZIP, close Ableton, and run Install-Wave-FX-2.cmd for 2.0, or Install-Wave-FX.cmd for Classic, as administrator. Scan VST3 plug-ins in Ableton, then activate using the personal license in Your library. Wave FX 2.0 installs separately from Classic 1.0; the 2.0.2 update replaces an older Wave FX 2.0 build. Keep Classic for Sets that already use it.
